Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning

Mitsubishi is a trusted household name known the world over and associated with a variety of excellent products and services. Originating in the shipping industry back in 1870, the Mitsubishi group has grown into one of the worlds finest corporations. The diverse businesses that have sprung from Mitsubishi share a name to be proud of and a wealth of knowledge and expertise covering many industries, including involvement in shipping, satellite communication, motors, security and expertise in electronics and electrical equipment.

The air conditioning division of Mitsubishi Electric was founded in 1955 (Shizuoka-work Japan) and quickly established itself at the forefront of the industry – a position still enjoyed today. The company was established in Scotland in 1993. With 50 years experience in developing air conditioning systems, we continue to benefit from the sheer size and diversity of the Mitsubishi group. With modern building insulation now at its best and electronic equipment galore in our homes and workplaces, the need for effective heating and cooling is paramount. Our cost-effective, energy-conscious systems are expertly designed to provide the consumer with constant, comfortable living and working environments.

Driven by latest technology
______________________

At Mitsubishi Electric we continually strive to meet the increasing demands of our customers. We were the first in the industry to offer highly advanced inverter driven systems. Using inverter technology our systems produce just the right amount of output to match the exact requirement of any building. These systems work so efficiently that they don’t waste valuable energy by over-heating or over-cooling, resulting in greatly reduced running costs. Alternative systems that may appear cheaper can often cost substantially more to run, making us the most cost-effective choice all round.

The use of ever-advancing technology brings with it the need to implement, maintain, constantly review and improve processes in order to maintain quality. Lean is a way of life at Mitsubishi and the company has built on this culture during its time at Livingston.

Protecting the environment

_____________________

As scientific evidence points to man-made chemicals for the damage caused to the ozone layer, we only use chlorine-free refrigerants that are safe and have zero ozone depletion potential. Accordingly, as our systems require less energy to run, they have significantly lower indirect global warming potential too. In short, our constant investment and product development enables us to provide the most efficient equipment possible, whilst protecting the environment at the same time.

HMD Kontro

HMD is the home of the sealless pump. As the first to develop and perfect the magnetic drive for pumping applications, over sixty years ago. With a mag drive seal less pump there is no danger of emissions or leaks. The containment seal is completely glandless so provides the ability to be both user and environmentally friendly. Zero seals mean low maintenance and reduced ongoing costs. There are no seals to replace and, with components common across the HMD range, therefore spare parts inventory can be kept to a minimum.

HMD seal/less magnet driven pumps have a host of applications. They are particularly useful in high temperature, high viscosity, high pressure and hazardous situations.HMD Kontro pumps are particularly applicable to industries such as petroleum, chemical, gas, pharmaceutical and similar sectors where toxic or fine, corrosive or aggressive liquid needs to be pumped and moved. The seal/less pump is particularly suited to environments that are hot or caustic, such as those in petrochemical refineries

Lean Manufacturing – OEE

____________________

We machine only those components that fit our core competency in house, anything simple is outsourced; so to ensure our equipment is utilised fully we conduct OEE for six week blocks and follow up the findings with training plans to allow the operators to fix the problem areas themselves. We can show you the format and spreadsheets used and explain the benefits it has shown us and how to keep it simple.

Supply Chain Management – Scorecards

________________________________

We outsource 93% of all required components, so to ensure consistency in quality and delivery time we have created a scorecard system based on the best practices that we could find and refined it. We can show you how to gather the required data and how to approach suppliers with their and your own problems to create a ?win-win solution and how you can effectively manage the top percentage of your supply chain.

People Development & Leadership – Employee Satisfaction

______________________________________________

We complete a biennial employee satisfaction survey as required by our parent company. We have developed a process of improved employee communication which allows a forum for employees to feedback to us what they feel is important. These issues are then the focus for improvement for the company. All actions are linked to categories in the employee survey and a newsletter produced quarterly. Since the start of this process in 2005, our results have improved from 46% to 64% (the largest increase world wide) and we are now targeting 75%.

Accelerating Project Delivery

Focusing on delivering projects faster is the best way to reduce cost as project time accounts for over 70% of project cost.
We have designed a world class project delivery system for transforming the current state of most projects running late to 90% completing ahead of time and ultimately 50% faster.
A system that radically improves quality and safety simultaneously whist compressing time.

The LTL team use the most advanced tried and tested management and production philosophies, practices, tools and techniques from sports, manufacturing and health care. More importantly LTL has expertise in how to apply the right technique at the right time to achieve optimum outcome without over burdening the project teams.
The workshop will be delivered by Ali Mafi and Hamied Ghadimi, who have over 60 years of combined experience of project processes and systems in construction and oil and gas. Ali and Hamied will share how they have helped projects finish ahead of time with less resources and effort absorbing uncertainties including client changes. They will also demonstrate a system that does not limit itself to techniques such as Agile and Collaborative planning for delivering projects.
